City Mobilities was a two-day workshop in collaboration that explores ideas about the way we access and move in public spaces. Led by SA artists Tom Borgas and Paul Gazzola (OSCA Artistic Director), 14 emerging and established artists working across visual arts, performance, urban planning and social sciences explored how we can rethink and reconfigure the city’s infrastructure into other forms and functionalities.

The workshop explored a variety of methodologies and approaches to highlight, question and renegotiate the importance of individual participation in public space. Each participant was invited to research various city sites and public spaces and develop a series of conceptual and physical responses in a collaborative studio-based set up.

City Mobilities is the second outcome of an ongoing partnership between The Mill and OSCA and was supported by the City Of Adelaide. This workshop is a precursor to the development of a longer collaborative public art project and workshop series planned over the next two years.

Workshop dates: 14 & 15 Oct 2020 at The Mill Breakout Space and city streets.
