For over 38 years Ollie Black has blazed a trail, has claimed and cleared the path, for women, for Indigenous communities, for emerging artists and arts workers, for young people, and for communities urban, suburban, remote and local. Her legacy is evident across the realms of circus, theatre, youth development, training organizations, the prison system, juvenile justice, and arts led health and well being programs. Ollie has been a founding member of organizations that still exist and although these organizations have morphed and moved with the times they well recognize her as a primary energy in their creation. Desperate Measures, Wimmins Circus, Circus OZ, Vitalstatistix, Kurruru are but a few. As the Co-coordinator of the St Bedes Community Garden Ollie will play a vital part in the development and presentation of Weed Kitchen.
