Sovereign Acts – Decolonising Methods of the the Lived and the Spoken speaks back to colonial institutions of power as dominant repositories of culture/knowledge.
Our ongoing work explores complex ideas of being both bound and free; what we are bound to historically and, as sovereign people, what we choose to (un)bind ourselves to and from, both now and into the future. Each stage or “Act” reflects on its performative outcomes to inform and develop into the next Act. Bound/Unbound Collective
Over 2017 the collective will develop a new work- Sovereign Acts 4/ Surveil for the 2018 Taranarthi Festival.
